Six Sigma

Klimasan has adopted and began implementing the “Six Sigma” management strategy in 2004 as the first and only company in the industry to do so.

The primary objective of Six Sigma methodology can be summarized as process development and implementation of measurable strategies based on error minimization by employing two basic sub-methods.

DMAIC consists of process identification, measurement, analysis, development and control steps and aims to improve existing business processes.

DMADV methodology consists of identification, measurement, analysis, design and verification steps and aims to create new products or process designs in Six Sigma quality steps.

Both methodologies are lead by Six Sigma Masters and implemented by Green Belts and Black Belts.

Klimasan has identified and reviewed all processes and established “Key Performance Indicators-KPIs” with the implementation of Six Sigma process since 2004. Accordingly, error minimization with the adaption of customer-oriented approaches increased error-free production capability by 24%.

Klimasan employees have currently received over 400 hours of training and the ongoing projects brought a 20% increase in productivity. Currently, 28 Green Belts lead and implement the Six Sigma methodology at Klimasan.

Currently, in-plant organization 5S studies and Rolled Throughput Yield (RTY) studies based on error-free operation of all business process stages are continuously carried out.

Different Aspects of Six Sigma

• Sigma is a Greek letter.
• The term “sigma” is used to define the distribution of a process or product characteristics around a mean.
• Six sigma is an indicator of how good a service or product process operates. The higher the sigma level, the better the process. It measures the error-free running capability of the process. Error is anything that leads to customer dissatisfaction.
• The basic indicator in Six Sigma is “error per product”. Here, product can be basically anything from a part, material, administrative form, time to distance.
